My Love for Pencil Dresses

I always loved the pencil dress. There’s just something about it. With the way the female curves show. Think about the icons like Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot or Dita von Teese. Also the female professionals often wear a variant of the pencil dress. You’ll see long and short versions of it and almost every woman has at least one in her wardrobe. Lately I’ve been smitten by this dress of Vanilia, which has a beautiful, dark red color that’s very modern at the moment. It’s a lovely flexible variant that doesn’t give you a horrible constricted feeling. Thanks to it’s simplicity the appropriate fit is even more important. I bought this dress for the time when I was a guest to a wedding past fall. I wore it with nude coloured pumps and a sandy coloured tweed jacket. For the finishing touch I added sparkling jewelry like teardrop earrings and a bracelet with my hair tied up. By it being so plain and simple, the dress can be used for casual and more fancy occasions. A week after the wedding I was already wearing this dress again with a black panty and black ankle boots when going on a family visit. When the seasons change this dress will also be very lovely with my converse sneakers. I also like to wear it with a long vest over the dress and black pumps. If you want to emphasise your waist you can wear a belt around the smallest part of your waist. Really the options are endless with a piece like this.

P.S. Maybe valentine’s day?
